Whenever I arrive at a new airport with Louie, the first order of business is finding a place where he can pee. At Minneapolis – St Paul Airport (MSP), pet relief areas are available in several locations. Here’s where Louie left his mark at MSP Terminal 1.
Outside Terminal 1:
There is a pet relief area just outside MSP’s Terminal 1 baggage claim. If you exit through door 1A, you should see signs pointing left to pet relief. At the end of the sidewalk, there is a narrow potty area fenced in on three sides. Louie gave the wood chips a good sniff and the strategically placed rocks his mark of approval.
On the home from Minneapolis, we discovered our flight was delayed after we had cleared security. Thankfully, there are additional pet relief areas located airside at MSP. This gave Louie had another opportunity to go potty without our having to go out through security again.

The airside pet relief area we visited at MSP is centrally located at the beginning of Concourse E. To find it look for the Escape Lounge and turn under the stairs. It is all the way at the end of the hallway past several restrooms and family areas.
The pet potty area in Concourse E contains a patch of artificial grass with a big red hydrant. It has a pushbutton cleaning system, poop bags, and a sink.

The pet relief area near the entrance to concord E need serious cleaning and updating. Map of pet areas and WELL LABELED direction markers really need to be added. Also, the information maps at the information desks need to be updated with correct restaurant names. In 2021 finding the areas was easy. Not so much now.
I’m sorry to hear that. It’s been a few years since we went through there. Thanks for updating us.
