There is so much in Huntington Beach for dogs to enjoy. From hotels with incredible pet perks to one of California’s best dog beaches. Here are our recommendations for where to stay and play with your pup in “Surf City.”
Paséa Hotel & Spa
Louie and I stayed at the shiny new Paséa Hotel & Spa, located across the Pacific Coast Highway from Huntington City Beach. The hotel is located next to the Pacific Center complex, where there are several dog friendly stores and restaurants which welcome pups on the patio. It can get a bit noisy at night, but I suppose that is the price you pay for convenience. You should also be prepared to pay an additional pet fee of $150 per stay.
Paséa Hotel in Huntington Beach offers loads of amenities for dogs. Like most good dog friendly hotels, guests have access to pet bowls and beds. However, the best feature lies outside at the hotel’s private “Paw-séa Pup Play Park.” The 1,100 square foot area is completely fenced in, so dogs have a safe place to play and go potty. The park has a mix of synthetic grass and gravel, decorated with a hydrant and doggie-sized lifeguard station.
Dog Beach
Although pets are not allowed on City Beach, there is an exclusive beach for dogs only two miles down the coast. Huntington Dog Beach runs from Seapoint Avenue to 21st Street. There are two parking lots located off the Pacific Coast Highway. The hourly rate is currently $1.75, and you can pay with Visa/Mastercard or cash.
The shoreline at Huntington Dog Beach is accessible by walking down ramps located at either end of the parking areas. Because of the cliffs, you can let your dog off-leash without worrying that they might run out into the street.
