As you know, Louie Vuitton the Frenchie loves to travel. He also enjoys a good party with friends. So, I quickly accepted when we got an invitation to a French Bulldog birthday party at a dog friendly Minneapolis brewery. Not only would we be able to party with some of our favorite Facebook friends, but we’d also have an opportunity to visit a new city!
Our home base in Minneapolis was the dog friendly Hewing Hotel. Located in the trendy Warehouse District, the Hewing was initially a farm machinery warehouse. Today the hotel contains 124 luxurious guest rooms, a stylish bar, and a restaurant. Pets are allowed for a one-time fee of $75. There is a grassy lot across the street for potty breaks, and a dog run about two blocks away.
I called ahead to confirm the Hewing Hotel’s pet policy, and they asked for a bit of info about Louie. When we checked in, I could see his name already listed on a chalkboard with the other “V.I.Pups” in residence! Louie was more impressed by the full bowl of dog biscuits that greeted him. Dogs are welcome to join you for a snack in the comfortable lobby/lounge area of the Hewing Hotel Minneapolis.
Dog Friendly Taprooms & Breweries
Minnesotans take their beer very seriously! There are more than 100 breweries in the state, and many of them have taprooms that allow dogs. Our Frenchie friend’s birthday party was held at the dog friendly Able Seedhouse & Brewery in Minneapolis. The taproom does not serve food; however, customers are welcome to bring their own. The neighborhood is also home to numerous takeout options. Dogs can join you inside Able Seedhouse and at the picnic tables out front.
Louie & I had a wonderful weekend celebrating Millie’s birthday in dog friendly Minneapolis! If you are planning to visit the city, I recommend checking out the schedule of dog friendly activities on SidewalkDog.com. Also, if you are flying to MSP, please check out my post on pet relief areas located inside the airport.
This is so adorable! Dog birthday parties are the best! I always love reading about your travels
I don’t live too far from Minneapolis. This was a great post on where I can take my dogs! Traveling with dogs is the best! Thank you!
